We are excited that Tal was selected for the Ben Barres early career acceleration award by the Chen Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). This award is given to early career investigators to pursue bold ideas with the goal of advancing the biological mechanisms underpinning neurodegenerative disorders.
With this support by CZI, we will use a new approach the lab has developed to monitor autophagy dynamics in vivo at unprecedented scale in order to determine and study early autophagic deficits in neurodegeneration. We hope this work would pave the way to earlier detection and ultimately better therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative disorders.

Congratulations to Maya and Nikol for starting the new school year in the Laviv lab! We are happy to announce that, following almost a year of work at the Laviv Lab, they are now officially enrolled as students in our lab.
Nikol is pursuing a PhD in neuroscience, while Maya is now a master's student at the Sagol School of Neuroscience.

Congratulations to Tal and Aviv for their publication in Advanced Materials! They published the article “Brain-Targeted Liposomes Loaded with MonoclonalAntibodies Reduce Alpha-Synuclein Aggregation and Improve Behavioral Symptoms in Parkinson’s Disease” with the Avi Schroeder Lab.
